Step Outside of Your Comfort Zone!

By German Translator & Researcher, Lisa Schwarz.

We all know the feeling…

When you are in your comfort zone, you usually do things you enjoy and are good at. These are things you have mastered, without having to face any real challenges. Your comfort zone is your safe-haven – it`s easy because you know exactly what you are doing. You don`t have to worry about the risk of failing.

Working outside of your comfort zone, on the other hand, means you are challenging yourself; you are doing things you are not familiar with. You are putting yourself out there and attempting to tackle unknown territory. You are taking chances, facing challenges, and pushing yourself – you are giving yourself the opportunity to grow.

Yes, leaving your comfort zone every now and again can be scary, however, you should dare to take the initiative if you wish to progress, fulfil your dreams, and be determined.

“The best things in life are often waiting for you at the exit ramp of your comfort zone.” ~ Karen Salmansohn

How to get started

Take a look at your current situation and ask yourself the following questions:

  • What is my comfort zone?
  • What are the routines I stick to in the hope that they will help me achieve my goals?
  • How do I generally deal with difficult situations?
  • What do I constantly say ‘no’ to, yet have a nagging sense within me, that I should say ‘yes’ instead?
  • Stepping out of my comfort zone – what is the worst that could happen?

Challenge yourself!

Without a doubt, clinging to the activities and routines that made us successful in the first place, will stop us from growing. We need to challenge ourselves all the time to grow personally and professionally. Try living your life as though every day is a school day; you will learn and grow!

Take the first step!

You may even believe that everything is “fine” since you are making money. However, do you have the same weekly routine and achieve the same results? When you go through your daily routine, do you become bored or excited? If your daily routine no longer excites you, go back to when your Reliv business was thriving. What did you do differently this time around? Were you attempting to push yourself?

Consider things that aren’t in your comfort zone. Choose one and start working on it. Don`t worry about perfection; be brave, go for it and see what happens. Now is the time to take the first step!
